Abstract

Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and automated mobile robots (AMRs) are a type of robot helping to automate factories, agriculture, mail order companies, hospitals, construction sites, catering services and warehouses. They navigate using magnetic spots, inductive wires, laser guiding or cameras. Accordingly to the wide range of applications and the variety of different hardware used for supporting robot orientation, software developers for AGV face a number of different challenges including fleet management, collision avoidance and environmental adaption. Paths are defined physically, i.e., using landmarks and beacons or via semi-formal languages. The routing along the paths is implemented using AI-methods, metaheuristics or nature-inspired algorithms.

This track will be held in conjunction with the 13th international conference on control, mechatronics and automation (ICCMA) in Paris and will bring together researchers, practitioners, and industry experts from around the world to explore the latest advancements applications of AGV operating with and without human guidance.
